The Trip:
On Monday, March 13, the “Lady Lola”, our 42′ Bertram, left on a half-day offshore fishing trip out of Cap Cana Marina. For the first couple of hours, Captain Humberto Quintana and first mate Cristian Mota saw bait, birds, and jumping mahi mahi. It was a beautiful ecosystem, but so far with no bites. Mid-morning, though, a sailfish hit! The client quickly reeled it in. They were even able to take a quick picture before releasing it.
Five minutes after releasing the sailfish, they hooked up a white marlin! This one took a little longer to reel in. However, the client did a great job and released it quickly as well. In conclusion, it was a great four hours! It seems like white marlin season has fully started in Punta Cana. Billfish, including white and blue marlin and sailfish, are starting to show up regularly in Punta Cana, just a couple of miles from shore.
The Boat:
The Lady Lola, our 42′ Bertram, is a very comfortable vessel with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a downstairs galley, and a spacious salon. She is equipped with a professional fighting chair and top-notch equipment.
